DENTAL BRIDGES IN HONOLULU

If you’re missing one or more teeth, you are not alone. The American Dental Association reports that the average adult is missing up to three teeth. The good news is there are several options to replace missing teeth. A dental bridge is an excellent option that can restore your smile and help maintain your oral health.

A simple solution for missing teeth

There are many options when you are missing a tooth. A dental bridge is a wonderful option for many because it is an aesthetic and permanent solution for a missing tooth. A bridge helps restore function by preventing other teeth from moving, allows for proper eating and speaking, and gives a natural aesthetic to a smile. If you neglect to replace a missing tooth, that gap will eventually cause surrounding teeth to drift into that space, often causing further bite problems. Dr. Sugiki is here to help restore your smile by discussing various dental bridge options, including multiple tooth unit bridges, Maryland bridges, and dental implant supported bridges.

Choose Dr. Sugiki for your dental bridge

A dental bridge requires numerous visits to prepare your teeth that are anchors and match the perfect shade against your natural teeth. A fixed bridge will require at least two visits to our office. We will take an impression mold or scan of your teeth and the area the bridge will fill. The mold will serve as a template to create a custom laboratory made appliance. Dr. Sugiki may recommend temporary dental crowns to help transition you to a permanent bridge Once ready, your bridge will be adjusted and fit to your bite so that it is comfortable before being permanently cemented. A dental bridge is important in that it will help distribute forces in your bite by replacing missing teeth and prevent any jaw problems by teeth shifting. Excellent oral hygiene is necessary to maintain your bridge and prevent any tooth decay. Once your bridge is permanently bonded, you will be able to restore your original bite and smile!!

BENEFITS of A dental bridge:

  • A dental bridge can restore your facial structure to the proper form. After teeth loss, the jaw and shape of your face can appear sunken in and cause an aging affect. A bridge can fill in those gaps and help maintain a more youthful smile.
  • Having a fixed bridge instead of a removable appliance gives you more security that it will remain in place while speaking and eating
  • A bridge is a cost efficient way to replace a tooth and maintain the function of the adjacent teeth so they don’t shift or supra-erupt causing alignment issues.
